Coach D started Gate Keepers Athletics in 2019. It was a life long dream to extend his coaching career beyond  his teaching and coaching positions in local HS. Coach Yus has been one of the most sought after private wrestling coaches in SW Florida. Over the past 8 years coach Yus has helped to develop HS State Champions, and National Champions all age groups in freestyle and Greco. Prior to coming the the United States in 2015, Coach Yus directed:

Coach Moder is known across the nation as one of the best youth wrestling coaches. Over his 15+ years of coaching, he has produced countless AAU and USA State, National, and Pan American Game Champions, including his own children. Son Christian, a 2 time Florida State Champion and Fargo All American, Jonathan (freshman) a 2 time state finalist, and Hailee 8th grade) a girls state finalist.

Coach Hillis has been an integral part in establishing the GKA Wrestling Club, and strength and conditioning programs. He has built years of relationships with local wrestlers for more than  2 decades. Most notable for his development of the Shark Wrestling Club, and the Titans Wrestling Club that set the foundation for many hundreds of local wrestlers. Coach Hillis expands past the youth level and into the HS ranks. A former HS head coach and current First Baptist Academy assistant coach. Coach Hillis is also a personal trainer (NASM) at GKA.

Coach Soares is a Hall Of Fame Wrestler and Official. He has been involved in the sport of wrestling for over 50 years! As a competitor, coach was a Rhode Island high school and New England Champion, and a college all conference performer. Coach Soares then went on to be one of the sought after club coaches in Rhode Island and Top officials in New England for over 30 years. He was inducted into the RI Wrestling Hall of Fame, as well as the Worcester Polytechnic Institute HOF. Coach Soares is also an assistant coach for First Baptist Academy.

Coach Rua is a certified (ISSA) professional strength and conditioning specialist. He works here locally as a fitness trainer and activities coordinator. He was a standout wrestler in high school earning all state accolades and competed at the college level in Iowa. His coaching career expands over a decade which includes 7 years as Palmetto Ridge HS head coach. Currently he runs Wednesday Nights Folkstyle at the GKA.

Coach Erickson is one of the most respected track and field coaches in the FHSAA. He is also a highly sought after high school offensive coordinator in the SW Florida football scene. Coach Erickson has been developing athletes in the area for over 10 years. He currently runs the "breakfast club" 5:15am workout session.

Elias Rey a 2005 State Champion, and Edwin Rey a multiple time state place winner anchor the FBA wrestling staff. Elias one of the best personal 1 on 1 coaches in Florida makes him the ideal drill partner to reach the next level. Edwin vast experience of running a wrestling program, and his high level of instruction have been evidenced by FBA exponential rise to the top of the Florida wrestling scene.

Since its conception in 2021, the FBA wrestling program has emerged as one of the toughest teams in Florida. Placing 2nd in the FHSAA State IBT in 2022, and had their 1st individual champion Christian Moder. The 2023 season produced more accolades when the team won its first IBT district and regional titles and followed it up with 3rd place finish at the FHSAA IBT Tournament. Christian Moder repeated as state champion and 4 other Lions reached the Finals. FBA returns 5 state finalists in 2024.
